A Spitting Image

Our white darling has finally been added to the roster of broodmares at our farm.

Retired life agrees with her, and as she gained a bit of weight, she started to look more and more like her mother. To the point that Michelle one day came out from the house, took a deep breath, tea cup clutched in hand to murmur, partially to herself, to the mound of Pekingnese on the step, and to Lydia, "Visions never left us, did she?"

Neither Wookiedoo nor Lydia could really say, and neither were much for words either, and the question was simply answered by a loud whinny echoing in the cold morning are, the white mare standing at the edge of the fence with that dumb pink ball in her mouth.

Michelle knew the truth, a scarred lip quirking up at the edge.

She really hadn't.

Temperament: Nilla is a sweetheart, a very feminine delicate sweetheart. She loves anyone and everyone, loves kisses and hugs and just being around her people. Like her mother, she is easily distractable, but true to the bone, and she tries her best, even if her best doesn't always win everything. She loves peppermints, Nilla cookies, and anyone who has to time to give her some love.

Career:
Snow Vision performed exactly like we expected her to. Her lack of drive really showed, and she only managed to pull out a few wins, though she did try, in her own ballerina like delicate way. Never one to dominate a race, she scraped up some wins. We always knew the vast majority of our animals were stakes race winners, but Snow barely hung on to that. Winning mainly G2's and G3's, she did show herself to be variable on ANY surface and to have a ridiculously long stride.

Our little ballerina has a better future as a broodmare than a racer, we think. She never managed to pull off that final 'extreme' win that her mother and older sister did.</i>
