Description

WE GOT HER. OMG!

I can't say I'm entirely pleased with this...but with a cracked wrist, I'm doing my best here. Yeah, I basically forgot to mention to everyone that my wrist got nailed in a cabinet door at work, and the bone seems to be chipped/cracker. It hurts and has turned a number of colours. XD

I do like how the filly turned out though. ;3

This is my bid for Hip 5 at BCC Stables Summer Auction [link]

:iconhorseart-rpg:

The road had been harder than she could ever imagine.

The brown haired woman, hazel eyes blankly staring at nothing, hunches awkwardly on the front steps of the rebuilt house, her arms wrapped around her knees, chin tucked in between the two. The wind made her slowly rock, the breeze licking at her clothing and making her shiver. Yet nothing shows in her eyes. No emotion, no sadness, no life...just darkness and hopelessness.

There hadn't been a light in those eyes for so long, even Jeremy had slowly retreated from her...disturbed by her silence...her withdrawn nature. It was so unlike the woman he knew, that it made him uneasy even to be around her. She'd noticed it, noticed that all the staff were like ghosts when she was around.

She didn't care.

She knew she was driving her people...her family...away from herself...and though it hurt some small portion of herself that still could be hurt, she paid it no mind.

She'd lost weight...almost fifty pounds, and her clothing hung off her like loose rags...she still didn't care.

Jeremy was terrified she was going to starve herself to death. He'd been watching her all morning, his arms curled tightly around himself, hazel eyes, so much like Michelle's, glancing back to her constantly. He'd made a hundred tiny trips to the barn door, hiding behind the wood.

His worry was written in every line of his body, every tense step taken. Even the way his feet scraped on the rubber surface of the barn floor, it all told a story more precise than he could ever have spoken.

He was scared...everyone was scared. The woman he loved as a sister, as his best friend, was killing herself because her heart was broken. Clenching his jaw, he fights the moisture that threatens his eyes, and retreats back into the barn. He can only hope his plan will go as planned...Michelle's life depends on it.

The faint squeak of breaks of a car is the only thing that brings Michelle from her silence. Straggly haired head tilting her, the first sign of life appears on her face in almost a month. Mostly confusion, actually. Confusion as to why there was a limo in the drive way.

A short pudgy man bolts from the driver's door, hustling around to the passenger rear of the car and opening the door quickly with a half hidden bow.

A head appears, then broad shoulders in a tailored suit so well cut that it makes the striking figure of a man look even more imposing, even more beautiful and otherworldly than he already is.

Wide black sunglasses hide the man's eyes...he is even taller than Jeremy, with a muscular build, and a chiseled jawline. It is only as he comes around the side of the car, his long artists fingers twitching the shades from his eyes that a smile forms on his full lips.

A shriek like a jay escapes the hunched woman...and faster than she'd moved in months, she streaks across the yard towards him, shouting his name in a joyous peal so that even Jeremy can hear it, “LEIL!”

Man and woman come together in a resounding hug, laughter and sobbing mixed into one, Leil lifting her so high that she clings to him like a monkey, her long legs wrapped around him and his coat, even the now smushed flowers that he clings to.

A broken whisper escapes her as she holds onto him, “I missed you so much...I...missed you so much...”

“I missed you too sweet heart...I came here because...” He can't help but try to kiss away her tears before setting her back on the ground...the two of them moving to seat themselves on the steps in front of the house.

“My Darling.” A slightly shaking hand smooths mousy hair back from her face, and a gentle smile on his lips before he continues, “A little bird sent me something, it was in an envelope, about an auction...”

~

It wasn't every day she got to ride in a limo, a private jet, then another limo.

The limo was what Michelle would call posh. Even the roof was upholstered in thick soft material, and the little man driving it was ridiculously polite. He hadn't even make a noise when Michelle had climbed into the limo with horse manure still on her sneakers.

Strangely, nothing could have suited Leil more than the hope into the car and fly out to BCC farms that day. Which is what they did. Michelle was stunned, caught in the world wind that was Leil's world, he kept her on his arm all the way, supporting her when she needed it, whispering to her encouragement when she would fail...and now...nervously she wipes her hands on her pants, dirty jeans no less, as they climb out at BCC Stables.

Now, instead of despair, the thin woman with the scraggly hair only burns with hope. Her trembling hand clutches tightly to Leil's...and they walk on towards were the yearlings were being displayed.

Like Jeremy, Leil could only hope that perhaps a granddaughter of Visions could bring her back from the verge...and as Michelle's eyes fell on the beautiful filly, she could only gasp for breath before hiding her face in Leil's sleeve...frowning, the big man protectively hunches over her and murmurs, “What?”

She can only shake her head, managing to whisper, “...if you painted her white, I wouldn't be able to tell pictures of the two apart. She looks like her grandma.”

Leil can only rub a supportive hand down her back as the auction starts...they're going to try. At least it can be said they did that much.

HIP 5 – Information as if we won her.
Name: Bump In The Night
Barn Name: Bump
Gender: Filly
Projected Height: 17hh
Colour: Rose gray (cherry red chestnut base)
Eyes: Brown
Markings: Star, FR and BL socks, BR pastern
Build: This filly has some serious height on her. She has long, stork-like legs like her sire, but wears them far better than he does. She has a deep chest and larger lungs than normal.
Breed: Thoroughbred
Bloodlines: Apparition [link] x Foundation Mare
Discipline: Flat racing
Genes: ee/AA/Gg
Dosage Index: n/a
Temperament: This filly is a sweet thing, with an honest face and a willing disposition. Under her innocent exterior, her determination sits, and she is willing to try, try again, but never willing to attempt to do it the same way twice. Novelty is as water to her, a necessary part of her life. Like her father, she is a trickster, with a razor sharp mind, and a need to understand and overcome any sort of issue that comes up. She looks a bit like a confused heron or egret at times, with her long legs, and neck stretched out, long ears trying to catch any thing out of the ordinary. It only makes her that much more endearing.
Breeder: Black Creek Crossing Stables [link]
Sale Notes: While she is currently in her "awkward gray" stage, when the gray patches even out and begin to fade more she will definitely be a looker. She has a sharp mind and easy-going yet calculating nature. Combined, these quirks will make a dangerously-good runner. With her long legs, overly large lungs and a bit of training, she can easily out run the best stamina horses. Breeding-wise, her base colour--cherry red chestnut--is a hard-to-breed colour that is extremely desired for its ability to produce true-gold palominos when the cream allele is added.
