As the staff of the stable is prone to do, we managed to name another of our foals in an...odd manner. As they are VERY VERY quick to explain, Bury It Deep is in reference to death and how far under you put the casket, and I'm absolutely certain there is some pirate lingo in there somewhere.

Nonetheless, since birth this bizarre little colt with his trademark irregular star-stripe has been the clown around the farm. From the moment he toddled to his feet and faceplanted into the straw, he's been drawing chuckles from the crew.

Bunny did extremely well physically birthing this boy, as a first time Mum we expected some issues, since maidens are about as predictable as cats. She handled the actual mental arrival of the foal a little...less well. For the first hour, despite the little mite trying to get a turn at the milkbar, she hid in the corner, trying her best to keep a staff member between her and her baby. With some coaxing and a firm hand on the halter, she did eventually let him get that first important drink...though not without a mass of whiney complaints. Once she was a little more used to her offspring, we started to see what we suspected we would. As aggressively affectionate as she was with humans, she just tossed about her little colt like a ragdoll in her efforts to befriend him. By the end of the first week, we were forced to partition the stall with a guard so that Barry could escape his far too friendly mother.

We truly have no idea how well this goofball is going to do at the track...he seems to be able to run, and run ridiculously well. He just can't handle NOT being chased while running.

Personality: Not quite as affectionate as his mother, Barry has a need to be loved. By far not as aggressive in seeking out that affection, he seems to have a soft spot for a certain jockey that has recently been appearing quite often at the farm. He shows aspects of his father's fiery temprament, and a determination to have his way that is at odds with his willingness to do anything asked of him.
